KILAUEA, Hawaii (Island News) — Facebook billionaire CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla, have purchased additional ranch land on Kauai’s Northeastern Shore where he already owns hundreds of acres of land, a spokesperson for the Zuckerbergs confirmed to Island News on Wednesday.

“Mark and Priscilla continue to make a home for their family and grow their ranching, farming and conservation efforts at Koolau Ranch,” the spokesperson said. “The vast majority of the land is dedicated to agriculture, including cattle ranching, organic ginger, macadamia nut, and turmeric farming, native plant restoration and endangered species protection.”

After purchasing the ranch, they canceled previous owner’s plans for 80 luxury homes, and under their care, less than one percent of the overall land is developed, according to the spokesperson for Mark and Priscilla.

A source close to the situation told Island News that the recent Kilauea agricultural land purchase total nearly 1,000 acres for about $65 million.

The tech titan purchased his first swath of agricultural land—a 737-acre oceanfront estate on Kauai’s North Shore—about a decade ago.

Zuckerberg, 40, is listed as the second richest-person in the world, behind only Tesla’s Elon Musk, with a net worth of $216 billion, according to Forbes.
