Facebook-parent Meta has rolled out its AI-powered translation tools globally for creators on Facebook and Instagram. The feature debuts with support for English and Spanish, with plans to expand to additional languages in the near future. “Today we’re expanding access toMeta AI translations, a free tool that, once enabled, automatically dubs and lip syncs your reels into another language. This helps you reach and better connect with audiences all over the world so you can grow a global following. With Meta AI translations, you can speak to viewers in their own language, opening up your content to new audiences that may not have found it accessible before,” said the company in a blog post. The new translation capability is designed to help creators automatically translate their posts, captions, and bios, enabling them to reach broader audiences without the need for manual translation or third-party tools. Meta says the AI system is trained to preserve the tone, style, and intent of the original content, ensuring that creators’ voices remain authentic across languages.Getting started is simple. Before publishing your reel, click “Translate your voice with Meta AI”. Then toggle the button to turn on translations and whether you want to enable lip syncing. That’s it. Click “share now” and your reel and the translation can be seen in Spanish or English. If you want to review the translation before it’s published, you can select the toggle to enable this option, you will then receive a notification (or you can go to Professional Dashboard) to review and approve the translation. Accepting or rejecting the translation will not impact your original, non-translated reel.Translated reels will be shown to viewers in their preferred language and they will be able to see that your reel was translated with Meta AI. Viewers can also control whether they see translations in specific languages by selecting “Don’t translate” in the audio and language section within the three dot settings menu.Meta confirmed that the rollout will begin with select creators and gradually expand to all users globally.
