Five Pro Wrestlers Cast On American Gladiators, Includes AEW’s Wardlow, Kamille

June 12, 2025

The new American Gladiators reboot has a big pro wrestling influence.

The Hollywood Reporter announced new details about the American Gladiators reboot, including the five pro wrestlers who are part of the cast.

The pro wrestlers are:

  • Eric Bugenhagen (aka former WWE Superstar Rick Boogs)
  • Michael Wardlow (aka AEW star Wardlow)
  • Jessie Godderz (aka former TNA star / OVW star Mr. PEC-Tacular)
  • Jessica Roden (aka The Ultimate Athlete, J-Rod)
  • Kailey Latimer (aka former NWA Women’s Champion / AEW star Kamille)

The new season will feature 16 total Gladiators, eight women and eight men. The 16 Gladiators will have “classic” Gladiator names, but they aren’t sorted out yet, according to THR.

The series will be hosted by fellow pro wrestler and WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin. He will be joined by Rocsi Diaz and Chris Rose, who will serve as sideline reporters.

“The original Gladiators were iconic, so our search for the new Gladiators had to be exhaustive. Our team went cross country, meeting with thousands of fitness influencers and professional athletes to find the highest caliber of competitors” Barry Poznick, general manager MGM Alternative, Evolution Media and Big Fish Entertainment, told THR. “Every Gladiator in this lineup embodies what it means to be a modern warrior — relentless, inspiring, and ready for the challenge of a lifetime. They are real-life superheroes.”

The new American Gladiators will air on Amazon Prime Video. American Gladiators originally aired from September 1989 to May 1996. It was rebooted several times, including a primetime series in 2008 on NBC.

Fightful (via Fightful Select) recently reported that similar to Wardlow, Kamille was also busy working on a television project that will “have her busy through part of the summer.” This would explain her absence from AEW programming. Wardlow was dealing with an injury, but is cleared to return to AEW. However, he met with Tony Khan and both sides agreed that bringing him back to TV didn’t make sense since he’d have to leave again for the (undisclosed at the time) TV role.
