TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Florida Capitol Bureau) – More than 100 students are urging Florida lawmakers to protect the environment.
The students rallied outside the Capitol Thursday, making their case to ban Artificial Intelligence data centers under certain conditions. They believe these data centers use too much water and energy, while polluting the community.
They want lawmakers to think about the future when passing these bills.

“We are inheriting your mistakes instead of your leadership. That is not justice, that is abandonment,” Abigail Trachtenberg, lead organizer of genCleo, said. “We are terrified, we are angry and we feel that you have failed us. I implore you to hear us.”
The group is opposed to a set of bills that would make voting more difficult on college campuses.
