Former 80s Sitcom Actor Turns to Amazon Deliveries for Income
May 19, 2026
Popular ’80s sitcom actor Danny Pintauro reportedly works as an Amazon delivery person today to pay his bills.
According to Page Six, the Who’s the Boss actor, who shared the stage with Tony Danza and Judith Light, also addressed misconceptions about residual payments for long-running shows, saying that, “So there isn’t a pile of money sitting around these days.”
The actor, who appeared in eight seasons from 1984 to 1992, said it is a common misconception that legacy actors get long-term returns. In reality, his compensation drops each time the show changes hands. He reportedly claimed that he currently makes just five or six cents per episode.
The actor explained that shows in those days were structured differently and did not anticipate radical changes such as DVDs or streaming platforms. As a result, although he receives some payment when a platform like Amazon Prime Video purchases the show, his earnings continue to decline as the show changes hands.
The actor revealed that he spent most of his earnings on a drama degree from Stanford University and is today serving as an Amazon delivery person to support his family.
He revealed in an interview that the delivery work gives him the flexibility to pursue acting jobs. After delivering 38 packages in one shift, the actor posted a video saying that there is no shame in “staying in motion.”
Pintauro also dwelt on the public attitude towards actors in service jobs. He explained, “There has always been this fascination of actors working regular jobs and sort of people reading into that, and a lot of times it’s sort of looked at as a downfall, but I think we moved away from that.”
