Frito-Lay plans to expand in Clarksville, investing $27 million with new distribution center
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Frito-Lay has decided to expand its operations in Clarksville after recently submitting site plans for a distribution center off Corporate Parkway Boulevard to the Regional Planning Commission.
Frito-Lay oversees the production of brands such as Doritos, Cheetos, Lay’s and Tostito tortilla chips, among others, according to their website. The distribution center is planned in the South Industrial Park, and Josh Ward, executive director of industrial development for the Clarksville-Montgomery County EDC, confirmed the news to Clarksville Now.
Ward said the company, currently located at 1350 Tylertown Road, has purchased an 8-acre site off of Corporate Parkway Boulevard, where they will expand distribution capabilities from 10,000 square feet to 19,000 square feet, with a $27 million investment in the community.
“The Industrial Development Board is committed to helping Clarksville’s existing industries. The Frito-Lay expansion keeps all 43 jobs local to Montgomery County and provides the company with room to grow,” Ward told Clarksville Now.
The distribution center is expected to be made up of more than 16,600 square feet, according to site plans. Site plans also show 39 parking spaces and says the distribution center can reach a maximum height of 35 feet.
