General Electric investing in Rutland facility

RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – General Electric is investing $1 billion into its manufacturing sites across the country this year, including here in Vermont.
GE says around $32 million in new and upgraded equipment for their facility in Rutland will boost the creation of parts used in military and commercial aircraft. That’s on top of the $25 million GE invested in the Rutland plant in 2024.
GE says the parts made in here in the Green Mountains are in high demand.
“The demand for the product is quite robust both on the commercial and the military applications, and Rutland has a unique position in that it services every one of the products that we produce that are flying right now,” said Mike Kauffman, a senior vice president at General Electric.
GE also plans to hire some 5,000 workers at their plants throughout the country, including in Rutland.
