Girl Fight Fitness aims to provide supportive environment for women
April 2, 2025
Amanda Barone founded Girl Fight Fitness to be a supportive, fun environment for women who struggle to find a routine that works for them.
Barone, who co-owns the Latham gym with her wife Suzanne, told NewsChannel 13 the idea was born when she saw that women needed a place in the fitness world to feel strong and supported.
The gym not only caters to women, but specifically women who are busy, and struggle to make fitness a priority.
“We hear it all the time. ‘I’m too busy. I’m a mom. I’m too busy … my career takes over my life.’ We find ways to make this work no matter what – three workouts a week, 45 minutes each. That’s all you need to commit,” she said.
That commitment can bleed into other aspects of every woman’s life, Barone said.
“We support people from day one. We bring them in a state where they maybe are intimidated, scared to try something new and don’t know where to start. And we lead them through every step of the way,” she said.
The name “Girl Fight Fitness” comes from their belief that every woman has some fight in them.
“Every woman has some fight in them. And that’s what we really wanted to capture is that you can be strong. You can take up space, you can be empowered, and you can fight for your space in this world,” she said.
