Gov. Joe Lombardo appoints attorney Michael Miles to lead Cannabis Compliance Board

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – This week, Gov. Joe Lombardo appointed Michael Miles as Acting Executive Director of the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board, according to a Thursday, March 19, news release.

“I am committed to building on the strong foundation already in place alongside CCB (Cannabis Compliance Board) staff, industry, and partners,” Miles said. “Stepping into the director role is a privilege and a responsibility. I am committed to leading with clarity, transparency, and collaboration as we move forward together.”

Miles’ new role of Acting Executive Director starts on Monday, March 30.

He has served as deputy director since January 2020, prior to the agency’s founding in July 2020.

Before joining this board, Miles worked in the Nevada Attorney General’s Office for almost four years.

Prior to that, he was a private practice attorney.

Miles is also a Navy veteran who served for more than a decade.

The position is being vacated by James Humm, who has been appointed Director of Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy.
