New shocking video shows the moment a former mayor was stabbed during an attack outside his Massachusetts cannabis dispensary.

Will Flanagan, a colorful single-term mayor in Fall River, Massachusetts, was found writhing with stab wounds to his neck and rushed to a nearby hospital in a serious but stable condition Monday evening.

Horrific surveillance video shows the suspect, Corree Gonzales, running up behind Flanagan before making striking motions toward his head and neck, WCVB reported.

The video shows the suspect run up behind the victim and stab him.

Flanagan is seen throwing up his hands to protect himself before falling to the ground, before Gonzales runs away, crosses the street and leaves the former Democratic politician bleeding on the sidewalk.

The ex-elected official was able to stand up and limp toward a nearby housing complex, where several stunned witnesses were standing outside.

“I saw a guy mumbling some words. He came out, brushed up against the guy, stabbed him on the face and the neck. He was bleeding everywhere,” witness Karen Cange told WCVB.

Gonzales, 31, was arrested Tuesday after being detained in connection with the attack, which took place near the Cosmopolitan Dispensary, a Fall River marijuana business owned by Flanagan.

No motive has yet been given, and it isn’t known whether he had any prior relationship with Flanagan.

He attacked his arresting officers and is now facing four counts of assault and battery on a police officer on top of the pending charges for the stabbing.

Gonzales has a lengthy criminal record and was homeless, according to court documents from 2024.

In one incident, he allegedly threatened his sister and mother, who told officers that her son had suffered from mental illness since he was 15 years old, according to a police report seen by WCVB.

His last listed address was the Bristol County Jail in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

Gonzales was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty during a Tuesday arraignment.

He is currently being held without bail and was expected to undergo a mental health evaluation and return to court Wednesday.

Flanagan, a former assistant district attorney, became Fall River’s youngest mayor in November 2009, when he was just 29.

He was recalled by voters in the town, home to the USS Massachusetts and the Lizzie Borden murder house, in 2014 after allegedly showing a gun to a political rival.

Flanagan maintained a flamboyant social media presence, promoting his cannabis dispensary, which he launched in July 2022.

On Monday, he posted a video of himself singing “Blame It on the Rain” by Milli Vanilli on Facebook during a storm outside Cosmopolitan Dispensary, encouraging customers to come.

Flanagan returned to practicing law, while also performing in local films, including a recent horror movie.
