MEMPHIS, Tenn. – You don’t have to wait until Tuesday for Amazon Prime Day savings.

All weekend long, Prime members can unlock $1 off per gallon of gas at BP & Amoco gas stations in Memphis.

“Oh, I did not know that!” said Frances Bowles, a Bartlett shopper. “That’s good to know. Yeah, definitely.”

However, the deal is only good for one fill-up per account this weekend. To unlock the offer, log into Amazon Prime. Then, connect your Amazon account to earnify, which is BP’s rewards app.  After you’ve connected your account, download the earnify app. Here is a link to more detailed instructions from Amazon.

Shaun Payne and Derrion Clark looked forward to saving money as they fill up the generator for their food truck, Retro Coffee & Donuts, on Poplar.

“It helps us out a ton!” Payne said.

As FOX13 has reported, not every Prime Day deal is a true steal.

Sellers can mark up an item’s price the week before Prime Day, then slash it to give the appearance of a discount. It happens all over the internet.

“I see it a lot,” Bowles said. “A lot of times, I was like, ‘That was cheaper before!'”

If you want to investigate if an item is actually on sale, head to CamelCamelCamel.com.  It will give you the entire price history of an item you like on Amazon. Brian Miller was excited to discover the tool. He just wants transparency with online prices.

“I mean, we’re the ones spending the money,” he explained. “So, we deserve the best!”
