Hilton’s Renewable Energy Push Gains Ground After 100% Adoption Milestone

November 11, 2025

Hilton said it has reached a tipping point on clean electricity: hotel owners in the U.S. are increasingly opting for renewable energy contracts over fossil fuels.

“We feel a lot of momentum in that area,” said Jean Garris Hand, Hilton’s global head of sustainability. “And we’re really excited about our program and the uptake that owners continue to show.”

Hilton reached the milestone through its utility procurement program, which negotiates energy contracts in U.S. markets on behalf of participating hotel owners.

The program introduced a green option of renewable energy pricing alongside conventional electricity rates in markets where cleaner power is available.
