Honda Recognizes 56 Suppliers on US$36.7 Billion Spend

April 27, 2026

Honda honored 56 North American suppliers for outstanding performance during its Annual North American Supplier Conference last week, underscoring a fiscal year marked by more than US$36.7 billion in regional parts procurement. The awards recognized companies for excellence in supplying original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components and service parts used in the production of 1.5 million Honda and Acura vehicles in 2025.

Of the 56 total honorees, 12 suppliers with operations in Mexico were recognized for their contributions to Honda’s regional supply chain. The awards were divided into two primary categories: 37 for mass production suppliers and 19 for service parts providers.

Strategic Investment and Hybrid Focus

The recognition comes as Honda recalibrates its regional production strategy to emphasize a mix of internal combustion and electrified powertrains.

“As we focus our automotive business on maximizing hybrid and gasoline models, Honda continues to invest in its supplier network, collaborating with supplier partners to convert innovative technology into value for our customers. In this rapidly evolving environment, we must work closely with our suppliers to improve cost competitiveness, accelerate development timelines, and enhance product appeal, ensuring that Honda remains a brand of choice,” said Paul Dentinger, Senior Vice President of the Purchasing and Supply Chain Center at Honda Development & Manufacturing of America.

Mass Production and Expenditure Data

In 2025, Honda’s procurement for mass production exceeded US$35 billion, supporting 13 manufacturing plants across North America that produce vehicles, engines, and transmissions.

The 37 mass production award recipients were evaluated across four performance categories:

  • Quality and Delivery Excellence
  • Value Excellence
  • Quality, Delivery, and Value Excellence
  • Sustainability Excellence

Ten of the winners in the Quality and Delivery category are based in Mexico, including Corporación Mitsuba, DENSO, and F&P. In the Value Excellence category, PEC de México was the sole representative from the country.

Service Parts and Aftermarket Support

Beyond new vehicle production, Honda allocated US$1.78 billion to service parts supporting more than 26 million Honda and Acura vehicles currently in operation in the United States. A network of approximately 1,600 service parts suppliers provides components for automobiles, power equipment, and powersports products.

Nineteen suppliers received Service Parts awards based on a composite score of quality, cost, and on-time delivery. Two Mexican entities were among the recipients: Inoac Sistemas Exteriores, located in San Juan del Rio, Queretaro, and Toyoda Gosei Irapuato Mexico, based in Guanajuato.

Regional Economic Impact in Mexico

The awards highlighted the concentration of automotive manufacturing in central Mexico, particularly in the state of Guanajuato. Five of the 12 recognized Mexican suppliers operate in Guanajuato, across municipalities including Apaseo el Grande, Irapuato, and Silao. Other recognized suppliers are located in Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, and Nuevo Leon.

Honda currently maintains relationships with approximately 700 OEM suppliers across North America. Dentinger concluded by congratulating the recipients, noting that these partners “have earned this distinguished honor” through their commitment to the company’s operational standards.
