Horicon Bank Donates $15,000 to environmental causes

May 17, 2025

Horicon Bank announced a donation of $15,000 to 15 community causes, all dedicated to benefiting the environment.

Horicon Bank president Fred C. Schwertfeger noted the contribution is made in honor of customers’  response to the bank’s recent eStatement campaign which encouraged choosing a greener option for  monthly bank statements.

“As a company committed to sustainability, we are thrilled to see our customers embrace digital  statements, reducing paper waste and contributing to a healthier planet,” Schwertfeger said. “This  initiative not only reflects our dedication to environmental stewardship, but also highlights the collective  effort of our community in making a positive impact.”

The 15 community causes receiving donations were chosen by bank employees of each community. The causes range from conservation projects to educational programs on sustainability.

“Each organization plays a vital role in fostering a greener future, and we are honored to support their  work with these donations,” said Schwertfeger.

Among the organizations in the Ripon area who are receiving $1,000 donations are the Ripon Parks  and Recreation Department for planting trees in local parks and the Little Green Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our customers for their commitment to environmental responsibility  and for helping us make a difference in our communities,” Schwertfeger said.

Horicon Bank is a full-service community bank with 19 locations in communities across Wisconsin.
