Huge sign there’s no coming back for Katy
April 18, 2025
Her career has sadly floundered in recent years and after last year’s comeback misfire, Perry now ‘regrets’ her latest move.
Katy Perry has had one of the toughest years in show business following her much-maligned comeback, and her Blue Origin space flight has taken things from bad to worse.
Despite the historic nature of the mission, Perry and her crew members have been ridiculed across social media by Hollywood stars and the public for their behaviour both during the flight and after landing.
After numerous pictures and videos made the crew a laughing stock on social media, an insider has revealed that Perry has been left heartbroken and with numerous regrets.
“Katy doesn’t regret going to space. It was life-changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it,” the insider told Daily Mail.
It’s believed Perry, who is set to embark on a massive sell-out tour of Australia soon, has huge regrets about the infamous picture where she’s seen kissing the ground after just 11 minutes in space, as well as the images of her holding up a daisy at the camera while floating around in the capsule rather than enjoying the sights outside.
Perry’s crew member Gayle King was the first to hit back at critics.
Appearing on CBS Mornings with crewmate Aisha Bowe, the TV journalist said people she considered “friends” had criticised the mission publicly on social media.
“This is what bothers me, I’ve certainly read some of the stuff being said online and it’s coming from people I know, people I consider friends,” she said during Tuesday’s broadcast.
“They call it a ride, which I find very irritating because they never say men went for a ride,” King continued. “It’s called a flight or a journey. A ride implies it’s something frivolous or light-hearted. There’s nothing frivolous about what we did.”
“I’m very disappointed and saddened by [the hate]. What it’s doing to inspire other women and young girls – please don’t ignore that.”
Celebrities like Amy Schumer, Olivia Wilde, Emily Ratajkowski and Olivia Munn made their feelings on the space mission clear as they expressed their distaste.
“I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,” Munn said prior to the launch.
”It’s so much money to go to space, and there’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs.”
Don’t Worry Darling actor Wilde said: “Billion dollars bought some good memes I guess”.
