‘Hundreds’ of cannabis plants found underground
BBCTwo people have been arrested after “hundreds” of cannabis plants were discovered underground in Worcestershire, police have said.
A man, aged 54, and a woman, aged 53, were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.
The arrests took place at a property in Hartlebury, Worcestershire, on Monday morning after police executed a warrant.
The plants were discovered in three underground shipping containers at the property. The suspects have since been bailed but enquiries remain ongoing.
The warrant was led by Safer Neighbourhood Team and Patrol Officers from West Mercia Police, supported by Hereford and Worcester Fire Service, West Midlands CBRN team and WMAS Hart Team.
Sgt Jacob Jeffrey said “We will continue to tackle drug dealing and the harm it causes to our communities.
“We’d like to thank our partner agencies who supported us in this successful operation, with a substantial grow uncovered and the drug trade disrupted.”
