QUEENS, NY — Hunters Point’s first adult-use cannabis dispensary opened to the public earlier this week.
On Thursday, Nice Yield hosted a grand opening for the dispensary, located at 10-50 Jackson Ave.
The intimate store has a curated selection of products meant to specifically meet the needs of Western Queens cannabis consumers and those eager to learn more about how cannabis can improve their lives, officials told Patch.
Customers can expect shelves lined with a variety of brands of cannabis flower, edibles, vape pens and cartridges, hash and hash oils and a variety of specialty products available in the New York market.
“Opening this dispensary, here in Queens, is a lifelong dream,” Steve Urbano, owner & CEO of Nice Yield told Patch.“I’m Queens to my core, born and raised here. It’s where I first fell in love with cannabis. When California legalized cannabis I moved out there, learned the industry front and back, and when New York finally caught up I was finally able to move back to get this store moving.”
The budtenders working at Nice Yield are cannabis experts, who are able to help those who have been smoking and eating edibles for decades and those curious to try cannabis for the first time find the right products for them, officials told Patch.
“It’s such an honor to get this open, with so much community support, to get this going, and I can’t wait to put a smile on my neighbors faces,” Urbano added.
Nice Yield is open Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
