I test tech all year — these are the October Prime Day deals I’d actually buy right now

October 8, 2025

It’s the final day of Prime Big Deal Days, and there are still plenty of discounts on tech during the 48-hour sale, exclusive to Prime members. You can also find deals on beauty, household essentials and more.

I frequently cover shopping events like Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a writer for NBC Select, so I know how to find deals that are actually worth buying. I’m also the team’s tech reporter — I test smartwatches, fitness trackers and wireless earbuds regularly. I spent weeks combing through thousands of discounts to find the best October Prime Day tech deals — each one I recommend below is highly rated and 20% off or more, as well as at its lowest price in at least three months or lowest price ever. I’ll frequently update this list throughout Prime Big Deal Days.

Best October Prime Day tech deals

Best October Prime Day headphone deals

Apple launched AirPods Pro 3 last month, so now is a good time to take advantage of AirPods Pro 2 deals while supplies last. They are some of my favorite earbuds for anyone with an iPhone — they sync painlessly with your Apple devices, and have excellent sound quality, noise cancelling and transparency modes.

If you find rubber eartips uncomfortable, consider Apple’s regular AirPods instead of the Pros. They have a semi-open design that leaves your ears open, with no eartips to speak of. Plus they are under $100 right now.

If AirPods Pro 2 are a bit pricey, consider these Beats Studio Buds as an alternative, especially at this discounted price. They have many of the same features, including active noise cancelling, transparency mode, on-ear controls and easy pairing to other Apple devices. And they get up to eight hours of battery on a single charge.

If you are all-in on Samsung devices, these are the earbuds to get, especially at this price. They stand out from the pack with an industrial design and straight edges that are striking without being too eye-catching. Like AirPods Pro 2 and Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, they sound great and have powerful noise-cancelling and transparency modes. They also have an IP57 dust and water-resistant rating — much higher than most of their competitors.

These are my favorite earbuds for anyone with an Android phone. They have a small wing-tip stabilizer that makes them fit snugly and securely — I rarely worry about them falling out. They also come in bright and fun colors like pink and green.

This is one of the best headphone deals you can shop this Prime Day. The Sony WH-1000XM4 over-ear headphones are a steal for under $200, and blow away most of the competition in terms of sound quality, comfort and portability. Sony has since released the XM5 and XM6, but neither are as good a deal as this.

These are some of my favorite over-ear headphones, matching their lowest price ever at 42% off. They are particularly well-suited to travel — they’re lightweight, comfortable, have excellent noise cancellation and come with a wired audio cable for seatback entertainment on flights. And they come with a hardshell carrying case that’s easy to throw in a bag or backpack.

These are some of the best open-ear headphones for outdoor exercise. They keep your ear open to the world around you, stay secure during exercise and have excellent battery life. They’re also IP55 dust and water resistant, so they can handle inclement weather without issue.

Best October Prime Day smartwatch and fitness tracker deals

Apple launched the latest Apple Watch SE 3 last month, which means now is the time to get a great deal on this previous model while supplies last. It’s an excellent fitness and sleep tracker, and can handle smartwatch essentials like apps and notifications without issue, in my experience. It charges more slowly than newer models, though.

The Fitbit Charge 6 is my favorite fitness tracker for beginners because it’s small, easy to use and costs less than many of its competitors. It can track basic health, sleep, and fitness data, and has over 40 exercise profiles built in. You can learn more in my Fitbit Charge 6 review.

Samsung just launched the Galaxy Watch 8, so now is a great time to get a deal on the Galaxy Watch 7. It still has most of the brand’s best features, including health, fitness and sleep tracking (including sleep apnea detection), Galaxy AI, and a wide range of apps to download.

Best October Prime Day laptop and tablet deals

This is Apple’s most affordable iPad at its lowest price ever — it’s a great deal. The iPad A16 isn’t the fastest model, but it’s more than enough for most tablet tasks like streaming shows, taking video calls, reading books and following recipes. It’s thin, lightweight and has a large, high-resolution screen that’s clear and detailed.

The Kindle Paperwhite is our go-to e-reader, and it’s at its lowest price ever right now. It makes reading any and everywhere easy with its bright, glare-free screen that’s easy to read (even outside), a small, compact design and an up to 12-week battery life.

Best October Prime Day TV and audio deals

This Amazon streaming device is a whopping 50% off, and can easily be plugged into almost any TV. You can download your favorite apps like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Peacock and often stream faster than using the built-in software in your smart TV, according to our experts.

Roku makes some of my favorite streaming devices because it’s one of my favorite interfaces to use — it’s incredibly user-friendly to browse and stream all your favorites, in my experience. This streaming stick plugs into any TV’s HDMI port and has detailed 4K HDR playback.

Multiple NBC Select staffers own and love the Sonos Beam Gen 2 soundbar. It transforms your TV audio experience, especially compared to using your TV’s built-in speakers. It can connect to your TV via HDMI and to other devices like your phone or additional Sonos speakers over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Sony makes some of the best TVs on the market, with amazing picture quality and color accuracy, according to our experts. This Bravia 8 is at its lowest price ever, and has a vivid 4K OLED screen with rich colors and contrasts. Plus, it has Google TV built in, one of easier systems to use, in my experience.

Best October Prime Day smart home deals

I would recommend this Ring doorbell for most people, especially at this near 50% off price. Compared to the base model, it has improved video quality, a more easily removable battery pack and additional mounting hardware for attaching the doorbell to corners. Additional features like video history and package alerts require a Ring subscription.

NBC Select reporter Zoe Malin loves this smart plug — it turns ordinary appliances into smart ones you can program from your phone. Malin uses it to schedule the heat lamp she uses for her pet turtle, Angie: the lamp turns on automatically at 9 AM and off at 10 PM.

This is Amazon’s most affordable Echo Show device, even more so at this sale price. You can stream music and video, check the weather and control smart devices, plus its small size makes it a good fit for nightstands and kitchen counters.

This Echo device is an Alexa smart speaker and alarm clock in one. Its display can show the time, weather and other custom notifications. Like other smart speakers, you can use it to play music, podcasts, audiobooks and ask Amazon Alexa questions.

Best October Prime Day travel tech deals

This wireless charging is one of my favorite travel accessories. It can charge my phone, Apple Watch and earbuds all at once — it’s basically three chargers in one. It also folds down to a small, puck-sized shape, making it easy to pack in basically any bag, backpack or carry-on.

Always losing your keys? Apple AirTags can help with that, in our experience. They are Bluetooth trackers that use Apple’s Find My app to locate your AirTag, wherever it may be, and whatever it may be attached to. If your AirTag is within 30 feet of you, the app will use Precision Finding, which guides you towards its location with an arrow indicator. The single AirTag is also on sale, but for a lesser discount.

This travel adapter from Anker is smaller and thinner than Epicka’s, and has most of the same functions. It has a three-prong output, two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports, and can be used in the UK, EU and Australia.

This is a great price for a wireless charging station, especially one with Qi2 charging — it can charge both your smartphone and wireless earbuds quickly. You can also fold it down to a smaller size for travel, or if you just want to charge a single device.

I have one of these charging blocks at my office desk — I test a lot of gadgets, and having one block with both a USB-C and a USB-A port means I can plug in and charge pretty much anything. And it’s only $13 right now.

How I found the best October Prime Day tech deals

All of my recommendations above are based on NBC Select’s previous coverage and reporting. I also included products that the NBC Select staff tested, including Wellness Award winners. I ran each deal through price trackers like CamelCamelCamel to ensure products are at their lowest price in three months or the lowest price ever. All the products I recommend are also 20% off or more and highly rated with at least a 4.0-star average rating from hundreds of reviews.
