Illinois Amazon warehouse speed bill vetoed

AN ILLINOIS BILL to restrict Amazon’s and other large warehouse operators’ ability to impose work-speed or productivity quotas on employees was vetoed Friday by Gov. JB Pritzker (D). Five other states, including California and New York, have put restrictions on warehouse worker quotas.
- Employers would have been required under the Illinois bill to provide workers a written description of any quotas on which they’d be evaluated, plus a written explanation for any quota-related firing or other adverse employment event to the affected employee.
- The mandates would have taken effect next year, and apply to warehouses with 250 or more employees …
