Influencer, 23, Faces 16 Months in Prison for Smuggling Nearly $200K Worth of Cannabis

April 27, 2026

A 23-year-old influencer is allegedly facing 16 months in prison for reportedly smuggling nearly $200K worth of cannabis. 23-year-old Ellie Crampsie was caught with the drugs while on an international flight from Thailand to Edinburgh.

According to reports by The Daily Mail and The Times, Crampsie was found guilty of her crime on March 26, 2026. She was reportedly first detained at the Edinburgh International Airport, where authorities discovered that she was carrying over 37 lbs of cannabis.

The alleged Class B drug was reportedly worth anywhere between $158K to $198K. Shortly after, she was taken into custody and later charged.

Crampsie’s lawyer, Emma Laing, shared a statement about the incident that got the 23-year-old influencer arrested.

Firstly, the influencer was aboard Air France during her transit from Thailand to the UK on April 16, 2025. However, there was a layover in Paris after which she landed in Edinburgh and was detained.

Could it be that she’d obtained the cannabis from Paris, or was it already on her person in Thailand? Well, that remains unconfirmed.

However, after she landed in Edinburgh, she was confronted by Border Force officials who had many questions for her. This was because of the state her luggage was in.

Laing claimed that the influencer’s suitcase was open, and a “number of vacuum packages” were found within.

That’s what prompted officials to further investigate. After asking her questions, which she complied with, officers learned the truth.

In court, Crampsie’s lawyer requested bail to enable a quick social report. A social report is an interview between the guilty individual and a social worker.

According to the Stirling Council website, a social work report helps the court decide an appropriate sentencing after hearing a social worker’s account.

Sheriff Graeme Watson allowed the bail request with a condition: “No prejudgement.”

Sheriff Watson confirmed, “I’m going to adjourn sentencing in this case to allow the court to obtain a criminal justice social work report…”

The individual further agreed to proceed with Crampsie’s bail conditions under the previously mentioned condition.

Lastly, Sheriff Watson warned, saying, “All sentencing options will be open to me on the next occasion.”

Multiple reports, including those from The Daily Mail and The Times, allege that she would be facing 16 months in prison.

Should the social report prove negative, she will most likely be imprisoned. For now, her official sentencing remains unconfirmed, with an update awaited.

As mentioned earlier, Crampsie is an upcoming yet popular Scottish influencer. She often posts updates about her life on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

However, both those accounts have been set to ‘private’ since the incident broke.

She has reportedly amassed over 4K followers on the gram, but has an even larger following on TikTok with 6K followers. When she’s not on social media, the 23-year-old influencer is busy being an entrepreneur.

According to reports by People, Crampsie runs a beauty company known as ‘Brows by Ellie Crampsie’, which has already generated traction online. Whether or not her company is still active in the light of her legal troubles also remains unconfirmed.
