Drugs bust sees hundreds of cannabis plants seized
Hundreds of cannabis plants have been discovered by police in a Northamptonshire village.
Officers said 381 plants were found at a property on Thrift Street in Irchester.
The discovery came after residents reported suspicious activity, which led to a search warrant being obtained.
No arrests have been made.
The property’s electrics had been illegally bypassed, said police, which posed a “real fire risk” to neighbours.
Sgt Glenn Thomas, of Northamptonshire Police, said: “Drugs cultivation and drugs use is one of our locally identified priorities. These priorities are set by the community and so this result is great for all of us.”
