‘It’s all about creating a more inclusive environment for everyone’
March 7, 2025
Are you originally from the Rochester area? If not, what led you here?
I’m not originally from the Rochester area, but I moved here because of employment opportunities in hopes of securing a solid foundation for my children and I.
What do you like best about Rochester?
What I love about Rochester is the sense of community. It’s a place where people really support and uplift each other. In addition to that, the blend of vibrant cultures and welcoming atmosphere makes it a very special place to live and work.
What changes do you think still need to be made?
I think that there is still opportunity for growth, specifically, in the BIPOC community. For example, increasing access to affordable housing or enhancing community programs, can make a positive impact on the Rochester community. It’s all about creating a more inclusive environment for everyone.
What do you do for a living? Why did you choose that for your career?
I work in real estate, helping families find their dream home. I chose this career because I believe in building generational wealth through homeownership. It’s also increasingly rewarding to assist in bridging the disparity gap in homeownership and support first-time home buyers in achieving their dreams!
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment and what has been your greatest challenge you’ve had to overcome?
I am a first-generation college graduate of a single mother of four, myself being the second oldest, and the ONLY girl. I consider my greatest accomplishment to be earning my bachelor’s degree in business administration in December 2015, as a finance major. Some of my greatest challenges were breaking generational curses or barriers, should I say. Jumping over hurdles and through hoops in order to do what I am doing today. Becoming the best representation of young Black Americans in my generation.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I started my career off as an aspiring veterinarian in college. I majored in pre-vet and have hands-on experience inseminating dairy cows, castrating bulls, and vaccinating pigs, etc. This was my first dream career and it has played a big part in my career journey today and my will to have a positive and effective impact on the world!
