SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – After beating the top team in the Summit League and winning their conference championship, the South Dakota State baseball team is preparing for their NCAA Regional matchup with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The game is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 3pm, this is the 2nd time these two teams have faced off this season.

With the Cornhuskers winning 5-4 on a game winning base hit in the 8th inning.

But the attendance is expected to be double what it was the last time the Jackrabbits competed at Haymarket Park in Missouri.

Rob Bishop, SDSU baseball coach said, “Just having some comfort, we’ve been on the field. Even something as simple as we stay downtown area we’re pretty comfortable with all of it, easy road trip for us. We haven’t had eight or nine thousand fans in the stands here on Friday night so I don’t think there’s anything that’s really going to prepare you for that but as far as being as comfortable as we can be I think that is the case.”

Ty Madison, Senior pitcher and Omaha, Nebraska native said, “Super excited about it, we know how this place gets on a gameday so it’s just really exciting to be here and face a team that I grew up 50 miles down the road from.”

That game will be streamed on ESPN + at 3pm.
