Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's June Wedding in Venice, confirms mayor: Asks residents not to be worried as only ...

Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnarohas officially confirmed that the highly anticipated wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez will take place in the iconic Italian city this June. The mayor assured residents and tourists that the event will be managed with utmost care to avoid disruptions, despite the influx of celebrities and high-profile guests.
The wedding celebrations are scheduled to occur between June 24 and June 26 and will be hosted aboard Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, Koru, anchored in the Venice lagoon. The guest list includes approximately 200 attendees, featuring A-list celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, Eva Longoria, Oprah Winfrey, and Leonardo DiCaprio. The city has emphasised that the limited number of guests will ensure smooth operations without affecting daily life in Venice.
Mayor Brugnaro stated, “We are mutually working and supporting the organizers to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city.” He also dismissed rumours of large-scale disruptions, including excessive bookings of gondolas and water taxis, as unfounded.
Venice, renowned for hosting prestigious events like the G7 summit and the Venice Film Festival, is well-equipped to handle high-profile occasions. Luxury hotels along the Grand Canal, including the Gritti Palace and Aman Venice, have been reserved for the wedding guests, ensuring a seamless experience.
Bezos and Sanchez, who announced their engagement in May 2023, have been planning the wedding for months.
