Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s lavish Venetian wedding: Here’s what to expect

March 31, 2025

The upcoming wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez is shaping up to be a dazzling and extravagant affair. Unsurprisingly, given Bezos’ estimated net worth of $211.7 billion, the couple appears to be sparing no expense to make the event one to remember.

According to reports, Bezos and Sánchez will tie the knot this June in Venice, with festivities centered around the billionaire’s $500 million luxury yacht—complete with a figurehead resembling Sánchez.

However, the ceremony itself will not take place aboard the vessel. “I can confirm that the wedding vows won’t be exchanged on the ship,” a source told The Daily Mail. Instead, the yacht is expected to serve as a water taxi, transporting guests between various locations for the wedding’s many events, including the ceremony and lavish parties.

The guest list includes some of the biggest names in entertainment, business and politics. Expected attendees include Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey and her close friend Gayle King, Bill Gates, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Eva Longoria, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Barbra Streisand, Queen Rania of Jordan, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Karlie Kloss and her husband Joshua Kushner, and even former President Donald Trump.

For the big day, Sánchez will wear a gown by Oscar de la Renta, with fashion advice from Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Guests, meanwhile, will be accommodated in Venice’s most luxurious hotels, including The Gritti Palace and Aman Venice, where nightly rates start at $3,200.

Italian media reports have described an air of excitement in Venice as preparations for the high-profile nuptials unfold.

“Venice is preparing for the arrival of celebrities. The city’s most prestigious hotels are fully booked, and an entire fleet of water taxis has been secured,” a local outlet reported over the weekend. “The logistics indicate a meticulously planned, exclusive celebration. The choice of Venice is more than just a romantic gesture—the couple has a shared history with the city, having visited regularly throughout their relationship. This wedding will be one of the biggest moments of 2025, not just for the couple but for Venice itself.”

Venice’s mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, sought to ease concerns from residents who fear the wedding might disrupt daily life. “We are working closely with the organizers to ensure that the event respects the delicate nature and uniqueness of our city,” he stated. “The speculation and ‘fake news’ surrounding Jeff Bezos’ wedding are incorrect. We are committed to ensuring the city functions as usual, without disruption.”

Meanwhile, Sánchez doesn’t appear to be watching her wedding budget too closely. Over the weekend, she was spotted carrying a $5,750 Balenciaga handbag shaped like a coffee cup and made from calfskin. Whether it was practical or not is up for debate, but one thing is clear: money is no concern.

Bezos and Sánchez have been together since 2019 and got engaged in May 2023, with the Amazon founder reportedly spending $2.5 million on her engagement ring—a mere drop in the ocean for him. And just in case, the couple has signed a prenuptial agreement. However, as history has shown, even ironclad prenups don’t always guarantee smooth divorces when billionaires split.
