Lauren SanchezandJeff Bezosare expected to walk down the aisle next month and the unusual venue for the ceremony is raising some eyebrows. The billionaire, his bride and some 200 guests have reportedly already booked rooms at the best hotels.
Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and one of the wealthiest individuals in the world, is preparing to walk down the aisle for the second time. He is set to marry former journalist and entrepreneur Lauren Sánchez in what is expected to be a lavish ceremony later this month in Venice, Italy. The high-profile wedding is already generating global buzz, but it’s the couple’s prenuptial agreement that’s currently making headlines.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez prenuptial agreement
Given Bezos’s staggering net worth—estimated at $223 billion—and the couple’s substantial shared assets, including a $78 million estate in Hawaii and a $500 million superyacht named Koru, the pair has reportedly finalized a detailed prenup. This decision follows Bezos’s widely publicized 2019 divorce from MacKenzie Scott, which resulted in a $35 billion settlement—largely due to the lack of a prenuptial agreement at the time.
Jeff Bezos’ first marriage to MacKenzie Scott lasted 25 years, during which Amazon grew from a modest online bookstore into a global tech powerhouse. The couple married in 1993, long before Amazon became the multibillion-dollar corporation it is today. With no prenuptial agreement in place, their divorce resulted in a significant settlement—Scott received a 4% stake in Amazon, catapulting her to the ranks of the world’s wealthiest women. As of now, Forbes estimates her net worth at approximately $165.3 billion.
Learning from the past mistakes
Following such a high-profile and costly divorce, legal experts believe Bezos is unlikely to forgo a prenup in future relationships. While the details of his prenuptial agreement with fiancée Lauren Sánchez have not been made public, it’s presumed to include clear terms regarding individual and shared assets—spanning Bezos’s Amazon stake, real estate, and ventures like Blue Origin. The agreement may also address potential alimony, perhaps with a lump-sum clause tied to the marriage duration. Importantly, it likely protects Bezos’s philanthropic commitments, such as the Bezos Earth Fund, ensuring they remain unaffected by any future separation.
Lauren Sánchez, 53, also brings substantial assets to the marriage. With an estimated net worth of $30 million, she owns Black Ops Aviation, a media and production company with a fleet of helicopters, as well as a $6.2 million home in Washington, D.C. Given her own wealth and business interests, it’s expected that Sánchez has likewise secured her assets with a prenuptial agreement.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez wedding in Italy
The couple has chosen Venice, renowned for its romantic ambiance and historic charm, as the backdrop for their nuptials. Reports suggest that the ceremony may take place aboard Bezos’s $500 million superyacht, Koru, off the Italian coast—a location that holds sentimental value, as it was where Bezos proposed and later celebrated their engagement with family and friends.
Guests are expected to include: several members of the Kardashian/Jenner family, Orlando Bloom and fiancée Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and along with model Karlee Kloss and her husband Joshua Kushner.
President Donald Trump has also reportedly been invited to the nuptials. Officials from the city of Venice have said they lobbied Bezos and Sanchez to hold the wedding there.
The wedding is reportedly being arranged by the same planners who organized George and Amal Clooney’s nuptials, guaranteeing a carefully crafted celebration. According to sources, the couple is blending influences from their favorite destinations around the globe, creating a one-of-a-kind and deeply personal experience for their guests.
