Jim Cramer’s top 10 things to watch in the stock market Wednesday

May 6, 2026

My top 10 things to watch Wednesday, May 6 1. Stock futures jumped and oil plunged this morning after Axios reported the Iran war may be nearing an end soon. Washington and Tehran are the closest they’ve come to an agreement since attacks began on Feb. 28, the report said. The S & P 500 and Nasdaq both closed at records highs yesterday. The market isn’t overbought either. 2. Winners if the war actually comes to an end? Travel and leisure stocks. Aerospace too, especially Club name Boeing . Big moves across the group this morning. Delta is up 6%. GE Aerospace and Boeing are each up about 4%. What else is next for Boeing? President Donald Trump is set to meet with China’s Xi Jinping later this month, which could lead to a big aircraft order. 3. Club names Corning and Nvidia announced a massive deal on optical technology. Corning will build three new plants, increasing its domestic optical manufacturing capacity by 10-fold. Nvidia secures the supply it needs as optics replaces more copper in data centers. That shift is the reason we bought Corning for the Club in October. Corning is soaring 15%. Nvidia added almost 3%. 4. Another AI winner: Advanced Micro Devices . Second-quarter guidance issued last night was much better than expected, helped by surging demand for CPUs due to agentic AI adoption. CEO Lisa Su predicted the server CPU market will reach $120 billion by 2030. What we’re seeing in semiconductors is secular growth for a once-cyclical business. Rare moves in some of these stocks. AMD shares are soaring 15%. 5. Anthropic committed to spend $200 billion on Club name Alphabet’s Google Cloud over five years, tech publication The Information reported. It’s a mad dash to secure compute capacity. Google’s in-house TPU and Amazon ‘s in-house Trainium and Graviton chips are winning huge orders. 6. Novo Nordisk shares are jumping almost 7% this morning after trumpeting great numbers for its new Wegovy pill for obesity. Prescriptions totaled 1.3 million in the first quarter. Novo also raised its full-year guidance. Despite Novo’s three-month head start, Club name Eli Lilly ‘s own obesity pill Foundayo should be a hit too. 7. Couple price target bumps for Rockwell Automation including at Barclays, which went to $480 from $400. Kept its buy rating. I had Rockwell CEO Blake Moret on “Mad Money” last night. They’re seeing improving orders in lots of places: Data center, semiconductors but also automotive. Pretty much everything as part of onshoring and the accelerated depreciation included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. 8. Citigroup hiked its price target on Cummins to $770 from $710 after a strong first-quarter earnings report. Cummins is benefiting from the AI boom as a maker of backup generators for data centers. Demand has exploded for these. I put Cummins on my list of 2026 AI winners to buy last night. 9. CVS Health delivered a strong first quarter and hiked its full-year guidance for revenue and profit. Insurance arm Aetna had been a problem for CVS, but it’s showing signs of improvement. Shares are up over 6% this morning. Drug store consolidation is another tailwind for CVS. CEO David Joyner is set to join me tonight on “Mad Money.” 10. Disney shares are jumping more than 5% this morning after the entertainment giant’s streaming and parks strength drove a nice revenue beat. Full-year guide calls for 12% earnings growth and $8 billion worth stock buybacks. CEO Josh D’Amaro outlined his vision for Disney, including investing in intellectual property and technology. He took over for Bob Iger in March. Sign up for my Top 10 Morning Thoughts on the Market email newsletter for free (See here for a full list of the stocks at Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust.)
