Kansas State University focuses on helping students succeed from the moment they arrive. The university supports all types of students, including first-generation, transfer, graduate, adult learners and lifelong Wildcats, with academic help, financial and legal resources, mental and physical health services, and advising.

K-State is nationally recognized for student happiness, quality of life, and career services. Students can get help even before classes start through programs like Kompass, which connects freshmen with mentors, friends and campus resources early on.

Hands-on learning is a major priority. Students apply their skills in real-world settings, often partnering with Kansas communities. For example, instrument repair students fix instruments for local schools, gaining experience while serving others.

Career preparation is built into the student experience. The Career Center offers resume help, interview practice, job searches, networking and professional clothing at no cost.

Life outside the classroom is also supported. On-campus housing and award-winning dining help students build community and adjust to college life. Students stay active through intramural sports, recreation facilities and cheering on Big 12 athletic teams.

Overall, K-State provides a welcoming, supportive environment where students can learn, grow, build relationships and prepare for successful careers.
