A trip to the south of France will ultimately go very south for Kaley Cuoco and Sam Claflin, who are both attached to star in the mystery series Vanished, TVLine has learned.

Created by David Hilton and Preston Thompson (Kids in Love), Vanished will find Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) and Claflin (Daisy Jones & the Six) playing Alice and Tom, a couple whose romantic getaway to Paris takes a dark turn after Tom suddenly disappears aboard a train to the south of France. From there, per the official logline, “Alice is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.”

Matthias Schweighöfer (Germany’s You Are Wanted) and French actress Karin Viard are also set to co-star.

Vanished does not yet have a network to call home, but is being co-produced and shopped by AGC Studios. Production begins in late April in Paris and Marseille.

Cuoco is best known for her 12-season run as Penny on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which wrapped in 2019. Since then, she has led the Max thriller The Flight Attendant (which earned her two Emmy nominations), currently voices the title character in Max’s animated Harley Quinn series (which wrapped up its fifth season earlier this month) and starred opposite Chris Messina in two seasons of Peacock’s Based on a True Story (which has yet to be cancelled or renewed).

Claflin, meanwhile, is best recognized for his 2023 turn as rocker Billy Dunne in Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six adaptation. His other TV credits include Peaky Blinders and the 2024 Count of Monte Cristo miniseries.
