Kaley Cuoco’s New Thriller Series Gets Release Update, Set Photo Reveals First Look

Kaley Cuoco’s new thriller television series, Vanished, has received a new release update. A new photo of Cuoco from the set was also revealed.

Per Deadline, Vanished will air on Prime Video next year in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Filming is currently underway on the series in Paris and Marseille, with Barnaby Thompson directing. Cuoco plays Alice, a character who finds herself plunged into a world of mystery and danger after a romantic getaway to Paris results in the sudden disappearance of her boyfriend Tom on a train to France. Deadline‘s description of Vanished teases that Cuoco’s character will uncover “secrets about the man she thought she knew.”

Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games franchise) stars as Cuoco’s boyfriend. The two will be joined by three-time Cesar winner Karin Viard, German actor Matthias Schweighöfer, Simon Abkarian and Dar Zuzovsky for the series. Vanished is created by David Hilton and Preston Thompson for AGC Studios and is written by Preston Thompson. A photo from the set of the production shows Cuoco with the director’s clapperboard, ready to film the first take of Scene 202 on April 28, 2025.

Prime Video UK’s Head of Content Acquisitions, Tusahr Jindal, spoke about Vanished in a statement shared on Deadline. “With Kaley and Sam leading an incredible cast, this gripping thriller will keep viewers guessing at every turn. We can’t wait for audiences to be swept up in the mystery.

More information on Vanished, including where it will be streaming in the United States, remains to be seen. Cuoco, who is known for her role as Penny on the hit CBS sitcon The Big Bang Theory, has recently been exploring more serious roles. Similar to Vanished, she starred in a dark comedy mystery thriller, The Flight Attendant, which aired on HBO Max in 2020.

Amazon may not have landed global rights for Cuoco’s Vanished series, but it will stream the drama in select territories on Prime Video. Vanished joins a list of other dramas the company has pre-bought, with the Catherine Zeta-Jones-led thriller Kill Jackie also going to Amazon in select European countries. Amazon also recently purchased The Narrow Road to the Deep North, with Jacob Elordi set to star.

Amazon MGM also recently made headlines when it surprisingly gained creative control of the James Bond film franchise. Kaley Cuoco’s Vanished will air on Prime Video in select territories sometime in 2026.
