Katy Perry celebrates Blue Origin spaceflight with zero-gravity video…
April 15, 2025
California girl Katy Perry went to space Monday morning — and has yet to “come down, figuratively” despite backlash.
The singer gushed to her Instagram followers Tuesday about “still processing” her Blue Origin flight.
“Thank you @blueorigin and to my space sisters, taking up space AND making room in space for all — 143,” she captioned a zero-gravity video with clips from inside the rocket.
The Grammy nominee, 40, asked her followers, “One day when you’re older, will YOU still look up in wonder?”
In the behind-the-scenes footage, Perry revealed the two items she brought into space — a daisy as a tribute to her daughter, who shares a name with the flower, and the set list for her upcoming tour.
While some of Perry’s fans gushed over her journey in the comments section, many blasted the trip for its “performative feminism and absolute narcissism.”
Perry has yet to respond to the uproar — even as Kesha seemingly shaded her in a pointed social media upload.
The “TikTok” crooner, 38, shared a selfie via X while smiling and drinking from a Wendy’s cup.
The photo, notably, came on the heels of the fast food company going viral for its reaction to a video of Perry returning from space.
The brand tweeted, “Can we send her back?”
Kesha has long been at odds with Perry over her work with Dr. Luke, whom Kesha battled in court for nearly a decade.
Since Perry’s trip to space for nearly 11 minutes in high-fashion suits with Lauren Sánchez, Gayle King and more women, Olivia Wilde and Emily Ratajkowski have also dissed the all-female flight crew.
The “Don’t Worry Darling” director, 41, wrote via Instagram Stories that a “billion dollars bought some good memes.”
The model, for her part, shared how “disgusted” she felt by the “beyond-parody” moment in an impassioned TikTok.
One week prior to takeoff, Olivia Munn called the trip “gluttonous” while co-hosting “Today With Jenna and Friends.”
The actress, 44, said, “There are so many other things that are so important in the world right now.”
