On April 1, the podcast will be available on YouTube, Amazon Prime, and everywhere else podcasts can be listened to.
The 58-second video they shared shows James and Nash set up the same way James and JJ Redick were last year. The two are getting deep into the Xs and Os of basketball. At the end of the video, James pleads with the people that if Nash becomes a head coach after the podcast, he promised they didn’t talk about it beforehand.
James will embark on a new journey with Nash now. ‘Mind The Game’ returns after only a handful of episodes in Season 1. The first season was quite successful as it averaged 1.5 million views per episode and quickly amassed more than 500,000 subscribers on YouTube.
The 51-year-old Nash will make his first public appearance in quite some time. Nash retired from basketball in 2014 but then served as the general manager for the Canadian men’s national team and became the coaching consultant with the Golden State Warriors.
Shortly after that, Nash coached the Brooklyn Nets for two and a half seasons, posting a solid 94-67 record. Nash became head coach prior to the 2020-21 season. Although he coached the likes of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving, it was not enough, and he was let go during the 2022-23 season.
Nash was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017 after an incredible career. In 19 seasons, he was named a two-time MVP in consecutive years (2005 and 2006), an eight-time All-Star, a seven-time All-NBA, a five-time NBA assistant leader, a member of the 50-40-90 club in four different seasons, and a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
Nash played for the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
James and Nash are expected to get into the depth of basketball, bringing a fresh, new look to the game than what we see on the mainstream media.
