Legal cannabis in New York sees record growth in sales

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Legal cannabis sales in New York state saw record growth in sales, according to the 2025 annual report released by the New York State Cannabis Control Board (CCB) and Office of Cannabis Management (OCM).

Since the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act was signed into law in March 2021, adult-use retail sales have surpassed $2.5 billion.

More than 550 licensed adult-use dispensaries have opened across the state, nearly doubling the number from the previous year.

Through November, the Office of Cannabis Management processed over 2,300 licenses and nearly 800 license renewals.
