The Speakeasy Dispensary, located in Hamburg on Alysheba Way, plans to open its doors to medical cannabis cardholders this month — becoming only the second in the state to do so.

Kentucky’s first licensed dispensary opened in Beaver Dam in mid-December, selling out of products in just a week due to high demand. The location is expected to reopen later this month.

Like the Beaver Dam shop, Lexington’s first dispensary anticipates limited early availability as producers and inspectors continue working to get the state’s medical marijuana program off the ground.

The Speakeasy Dispensary will hold a ceremonial ribbon cutting on January 14.
