Liberty Energy Inc. has announced the acquisition of IMG Energy Solutions, a leading developer of distributed power systems. This acquisition enhances Liberty Power Innovation’s (LPI) portfolio by integrating IMG’s expertise in engineering design, construction management, software and monitoring systems, utility interconnection (PJM), and power marketing. IMG specializes in modular power product designs that enable rapid deployment of microgrids, making them ideal for applications such as data centers and critical infrastructure.

With over a decade of experience, the company’s 4th-generation power block design builds on its previous success, offering a standardized, scalable, and highly reliable energy solution. The pre-engineered, pre-tested modular power blocks minimize the need for additional equipment and can be quickly adapted to different site requirements, ensuring efficient project completion and long-term cost savings.

“The IMG team is excited to join forces with Liberty, which has a long history of successful deployment of capital into the energy space with innovative, world class customer-centric product solutions. We look forward to leveraging our collective experiences to further the successes of our customers,” mentioned Mike Brady, Chief Executive Officer of IMG.

IMG also operates a cloud-based platform for remote monitoring and control, integrating automation, instrumentation, and electrical design. Its 24/7 network operations center enables real-time power dispatch, asset management, and performance optimization, ensuring reliability and compliance. The company has maintained a perfect environmental compliance record, demonstrating its strong commitment to safety and sustainability.

Since 2011, IMG has delivered reliable energy solutions for critical projects, including operating an independent microgrid at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), which it powers with a combination of solar and natural gas thermal facilities. Additionally, in December 2023, IMG completed the sale of six 21 MW natural gas power plants in Northeast Pennsylvania to Tenaska, showcasing its ability to develop and execute high-quality power projects. This acquisition reinforces Liberty Energy’s commitment to innovation and sustainable power solutions, positioning the company for further growth in the evolving energy landscape.
