MASTIC BEACH, New York (WABC) — A Long Island teen was arrested for allegedly selling cannabis gummies to a middle school student.

That student then gave them to at least three other students who became sick.

It happened back in May at William Paca Middle School in Shirley.

The students ate the gummies on school grounds and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation, Suffolk County police arrested Jahsheem Jones, 18, at his home in Mastic Beach.

He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Jones was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
