Louisville dispensary helps patients apply for medical cannabis cards at reduced cost

March 15, 2026

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville dispensary is helping people apply for medical marijuana cards at a discounted rate.

Kentucky Alternative Care is hosting a “Patient Drive Series” every Sunday in March. It’s from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot at 2401 Bardstown Road.

A mobile clinic bus will be on site helping people start applications or renew their medical cards. The cost is $25.

“Most of the time, it’s going to cost anywhere between $125 to $175,” Tuesday Coughlin, KAC’s Retail Director, said. “It’s going to be discounted down to $25.”

Coughlin expects to help between 40 to 60 patients each Sunday at this “one stop shop.”

“They will be doing everything that you need right then and there,” Coughlin said. “You shouldn’t have to go to different places to fill out your paperwork or get it notarized.”

Kentucky has approved 20,768 medical cannabis cards as of March 13. The six approved conditions include:

  • Cancer
  • PTSD
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Epilepsy
  • Chronic Pain
  • Severe Nausea

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear’s administration has its sight set on further expanding the list to include 16 more medical conditions in 2026.

Coughlin said appointments are encouraged but walk-ups are welcome on March 15, 22, and 29.
