After all disbursements to ancestors have been made, the question on every direct descendant’s mind is when the next round of reparations applications will open up. 

The answer remains unclear, Reparations Committee members said at their March listening session at the Parasol Room at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. This is due to cannabis sales tax revenue being less than the committee projected originally in 2019. 

“When we made that projection in 2019 based on the interest and activity within the industry and our zoning, we expected that we would have three dispensaries,” Reparations Chair Robin Rue Simmons said.
