Mallorie Hollenbeck Receives $10,000 NIADA Scholarship

May 12, 2026

Hollenbeck, the daughter of Brian Hollenbeck and Farrah Scheffler of Midland, Michigan, is studying automotive marketing and management at Northwood, where she has built a strong record of academic achievement, industry engagement, and hands-on experience in the automotive field.

“Mallorie represents exactly what makes Northwood’s automotive programs so distinctive,” said Automotive Marketing/Management Chair Elgie Bright. “She is driven, professional, and deeply engaged with industry, having previously worked at Midland Ford and Garber Chevrolet Midland during the school year, and now at Dow in Midland. Those experiences, combined with her roles with the Northwood University International Auto Show, reflect the kind of experiential learning that prepares our students to lead from day one.”

The Northwood University International Auto Show is North America’s largest student-led outdoor new car show. In 2024, Hollenbeck served as a member of the Chevy Performance Team. She was selected to captain that team in 2025 and will return as the Chevy Performance Team’s captain for the 2026 Northwood University International Auto Show, which is set for Sept. 18-20 in Midland, Michigan.

The NIADA Foundation National Scholarship, presented by Cox Automotive, supports Northwood students pursuing careers in the automotive industry. The award reflects the longstanding connection between Northwood and the automotive retail community, as well as Northwood’s commitment to preparing the next generation of leaders in automotive, mobility and business.
