Man arrested for running unlicensed cannabis business in Red Wing

June 17, 2026

(ABC 6 News) — The Red Wing Police Department has made an arrest after shutting down an unlicensed cannabis business.

Jamie Ned Tri, 45, was arrested and charged with third-degree drug possession, first-degree cannabis possession, and child endangerment.

According to RWPD, officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of East 4th Street in Red Wing at about 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

During the search, RWPD said investigators found evidence of a cannabis-growing operation, and law enforcement seized about 33 pounds of suspected marijuana along with suspected pills, THC edible products, THC vaping products, marijuana wax, and other drug-related items.

Investigators also seized $26,099 in cash.

“The scale of this operation indicates an unlicensed commercial distribution network rather than personal use,” said Red Wing Police Chief Nick Sather. “Selling without a license bypasses all safeguards and puts people, especially youth, at risk. Our department remains committed to enforcing state laws regarding illicit sales, and we appreciate the assistance of our regional task force partners in executing this warrant safely.”
