MEDINA, N.Y. — The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force announced that the Medina Smoke Shop on North Main Street has been raided.
According to the task force, on Wednesday, after an investigation into the sale and distribution of high grade cannabis flower, THC edibles, concentrated cannabis wax, and THC vapes without a New York State Cannabis License, a search warrant of the smoke shop was executed.
Two men from Lackawanna — Aqeel Gobah, 28, and Raheeb Almaisari, 30 — were arrested and charged with criminal possession of cannabis in the third degree and criminal possession of cannabis in the second degree. The pair was taken to the Orleans County Jail for processing and were issued appearance tickets.
Police seized over three pounds of cannabis flower, over 25 pounds of cannabis edibles, over 200 THC vapes, multiple vials of THC wax, several mushroom infused chocolate bars, and over $2,000 in cash.
As a result of the raid, the New York State Office of Cannabis Management closed the store for selling and possessing unauthorized cannabis products.
