Meta Platforms Inc. convinced a California federal judge to coordinate discovery in authors’ AI copyright suit with a new case, but not to pause the case outright or block a fourth amended compliant—yet.
Judge Vince Chhabria called the authors’ delay in raising the new arguments on Meta’s use of peer-to-peer file-sharing in its proposed fourth amended complaint inexcusable during a hearing Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
