Meta launches Ads AI Connectors in open beta to enable campaign management via external AI tools

Advertisers can generate detailed reports to assess performance, create and edit campaigns using natural language prompts, manage product catalogs and troubleshoot feed issues, and access signal diagnostics to evaluate data quality and prioritise improvements.

Meta Platforms has introduced Ads AI Connectors in open beta, allowing advertisers and agencies to manage campaigns through the AI tools they already use.

The connectors are designed to eliminate the need for developer credentials, API integrations, or coding. Instead, they connect ad accounts directly to AI agents using Meta’s ads model context protocol (MCP) server and a command line interface (CLI).

Announcing the rollout, the company said it wants to enable advertisers to work within their existing environments rather than shifting entirely to Ads Manager. “Meta ads AI connectors, including Meta’s ads model context protocol (MCP) server and ads command line interface (CLI), give advertisers a secure, Meta-authenticated connection from their ad account to an AI agent,” the company said.

According to Meta, the system provides access to real campaign performance data, including ad creation workflows, catalog management, and audience insights. It emphasised that outputs generated through these integrations are based on actual campaign data rather than generalised recommendations.

The connectors support multiple use cases across campaign workflows. Advertisers can generate detailed reports to assess performance, create and edit campaigns using natural language prompts, manage product catalogs and troubleshoot feed issues, and access signal diagnostics to evaluate data quality and prioritise improvements.

Meta said the onboarding process is intended to be quick, noting that MCP-based setup can be completed in minutes without backend development work.

The launch builds on the company’s existing Meta AI business assistant within Ads Manager. While the assistant focuses on in-platform guidance, issue resolution, and campaign recommendations, the new connectors extend capabilities to external AI tools for cross-channel insights and customised workflows.

The company framed the move as part of a broader shift in how advertisers interact with its systems. “Meta ads AI connectors represent the next step in our partnership with advertisers and agencies, meeting you in the tools you already use, with the full intelligence of Meta’s ads system behind every conversation,” it said.
