MLex Summary: Consumer watchdog BEUC said Monday that Meta’s announced change to its user policy must ensure the removal of all dark patterns and provide less personalized choice upfront. The tech platform has pledged to give users of Facebook and Instagram in the EU the possibility to get fewer personalized ads, in order to comply with the Digital Markets Act, the EU law designed to rein in the market power of large online platforms.
