Meta Wins Summary Judgment in Facebook User Antitrust Lawsuit

Meta Platforms Inc. defeated an antitrust lawsuit from Facebook users after a district court ruled they fatally failed to provide admissible evidence of a Sherman Act violation ahead of trial.

“There is simply too great an analytical gap between the facts on which” the plaintiffs’ expert testimony relies “for it to pass muster as reliable and non-speculative,” Judge James Donato said Monday for the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

Donato granted summary judgment to the social media company on the Facebook users’ antitrust claim.
