Meta’s need for more electricity results in big contract with solar farms in Texas
June 26, 2025
After signing an agreement earlier this year to get electrical power from the Rockhaven wind farm in southern Oklahoma, Meta is expanding its power search.
This time, it’s in Texas where the giant tech company signed what are called Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreements with Adapture Renewables for 360 MW of power from two solar projects.
Both projects will reach commercial operation in 2027 but the location of the projects was not made known in this week’s announcement. Two years ago, Meta bought 333 MWac of capacity from Adapture Renewables for three solar projects in Arkansas and Illinois. It makes a total of nearly 700 MW Meta has bought from Adapture.
