Research council leader on geopolitics of ice-free Arctic and “taking risks” on understanding geoengineering

 The Natural Environment Research Council will put environmental science “front and centre” for economic growth and national security over the next decade, according to the council’s leader.

In an interview with Research Professional News, Louise Heathwaite also said there has been a change in approach at Nerc, with “more push around taking risks” in understanding fields like geoengineering.
