New Orleans cannabis dispensary raises neighborhood concerns

The opening of NOLA Cannabis on South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans has caused concern among some residents. Those living near the dispensary say its proximity to a church, school, and library is concerning, and they fear it may impact their property values. Some neighbors, like Betty DiMarco, are apprehensive about the potential impact on their quality of life. “I am concerned what is going to be the future of that what will happen if the city planning commission says that’s not a good place for it. what happens then?” said DiMarco.Tangela Robinson from NOLA Cannabis Company addressed these concerns, explaining that the dispensary operates under strict regulations. She said specific products can only be purchased by approved patients who have received authorization from a doctor, nurse practitioner, or medical psychologist. Robinson said that all products are tested and tracked, and the company aims to support the neighborhood.”We give the customers and our patients a chance to come and smell the bud and verify it.
