Nike planning for price increases coming soon on shoes, apparel, equipment
May 22, 2025
Price increases are coming to a variety of Nike products including footwear, apparel and equipment. According to CNBC, a person with knowledge of the move says the increases will take effect by June 1, but could start showing up on shelves as soon as this week.
The price hikes will range between $2 and $10 depending on the item, the sources said. For instance, shoes priced between $100 and $150 will increase by $5, while shoes over $150 will jump by $10.

Nike is reportedly not applying the hikes to children’s apparel ahead of the back to school shopping season this summer. The price changes will also not be applied to the popular Air Force 1 shoe line. Items under $100 will also not see price increases.
Nike did not specifically say the planned price jumps are being caused by tariffs instituted by President Donald Trump. CNBC reports Nike manufactures about half of its footwear in China and Vietnam. Trump has levied tariffs on imports from both of those countries.
In a statement, the company said the price changes are coming as “we regularly evaluate our business and make pricing adjustments as part of our seasonal planning.”
Along with raising prices, Nike is set to return to the online shopping platform Amazon for the first time in five years. Nike previously left Amazon to focus on its own online shopping platform.
