Homes, railway line and A-road at risk of flooding
PA MediaHomes, a railway line and a busy A-road could be flooded on Sunday, the Environment Agency (EA) has warned.
It said riverside properties along the River Yare in Reedham, Cantley and Brundall, Norfolk, were at risk, as were the A47 and rail tracks in those areas.
A flood warning was also issued for the River Waveney, on the county’s border with Suffolk, in St Olaves, Somerleyton, Oulton Broad, Burgh St Peter and Beccles.
EA said it was due to tide locking, where high tides restricted drainage of the river to the sea.
“We are closely monitoring the situation,” it said. “Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.”
The River Yare was expected to flood between 10:30 and 16:00 GMT on Sunday.
On the River Waveney, that warning was in place between 10:30 and 14:45.
